In episode 43 Adam Buxton and Zoe Jeyes return to review Zoe’s choice The Squid and the Whale. The 2005 semi-autobiographical comedy-drama written and directed by Noah Baumbach with Wes Anderson producing. The Squid and the Whale - Flixwatcher Podcast - Image 002 Now if that doesn’t float your boat you probably won’t enjoy this as much as Zoe and Helen! Set in Brooklyn in the late 80s it tells the story of two boys and their different reactions to their parent's divorce. Walt idolises their father Bernard who happens to be a total douchebag and Frank sides with his mother. Its a film about pretentiously over analysing things and features a memorable performance from Billy Baldwin (everyone’s second favorite Baldwin).

Scores
